Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:

  • Researching and identifying growth opportunities
  • Maintaining positive relationships with customers
  • Ensuring excellent customer service at all times
  • Forecasting sales, implementing innovative sales strategies

Construction Estimator

Location: Remote within the U.S., or in-office in Bogart, GA or Hanover Park, IL

Nawkaw is hiring an Estimator to support a growing portfolio of commercial restoration and architectural enhancement projects across North America. This is a margin-critical role focused on producing accurate, defensible, fully documented estimates that match field production realities and executive review standards.

What you’ll do

  • Review drawings, specifications, and scope details for new bid opportunities
  • Perform quantity takeoffs using STACK (new construction) and Connect Explorer (existing structures)
  • Break out square footage by substrate, color zone, and application count in the estimating spreadsheet
  • Build detailed labor, material, equipment, and access (lift/staging) cost models
  • Validate production rates using historical benchmarks; identify risk and challenge weak assumptions
  • Document assumptions, exclusions, clarifications, alternates, and key cost drivers
  • Participate in executive estimate reviews; continuously improve benchmarks vs. actuals
  • Keep estimate files highly organized and audit-ready (clean documentation, version control, clear scope notes)
  • Build and maintain a “comparables” database of prior jobs and benchmarks for quick estimating and reference


What you bring

  • 3+ years commercial estimating experience (restoration/coatings/masonry/concrete a plus)
  • Strong plan/spec reading and Excel skills; takeoff software proficiency (STACK preferred)
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational discipline (your estimates stand up to review and are easy to follow)
  • Calm, direct communicator with high attention to detail


Travel:
 10–20%
