2020: What’s next?
Nawkaw continues to expand globally. Nawkaw products are sold across fifty different countries.
The beginnings of Nawkaw came about when the founder and CEO, Russell Gray, started working with brick staining in Ontario, Canada, in the 1970s. He soon found a passion and talent for solving color-related problems. In the 1980s, he became more popular with brick manufacturers in the Greater Toronto Area. Gray decided his ideas could be channeled into his very own business.
In 1984, Gray started his first business, the predecessor for Nawkaw. About thirty years ago, in 1988, Nawkaw incorporated and opened for business for residential projects. As it started growing, the company became a mix of residential and commercial services. Its international headquarters were initially in Mississauga, Canada, but currently reside in Athens, Georgia.
Today, outside of the seven offices in the US, Nawkaw has a home in Montreal, Vancouver, five Australian cities, New Zealand, Tasmania, and Norway. Nawkaw offers residential and commercial work, with an even split between the two main areas of services. This also includes historical renovation that Nawkaw takes part in!
Nawkaw’s namesake comes from the sound a Canadian goose makes when it is migrating south.
As Nawkaw continues to grow globally, we are proud to be selling products in about 50 countries! Check out the map above to see our progression throughout the years.
