How to View Hidden Notes to Specifier in Microsoft Word
Our specification documents contain helpful "Notes to Specifier" formatted as hidden text to keep
the document clean for final printing. To view these notes while editing, follow the steps below:
For Windows Users:
- Click on File in the top left corner, then select Options at the bottom.
- Click on Display in the left-hand menu.
- Under the Always show these formatting marks on the screen section, check the box next to Hidden text.
- Click OK.
Shortcut:
You can also toggle hidden text by clicking the ¶ (Show/Hide) button on the Home ribbon, or by pressing Ctrl + Shift + 8.
For Mac Users:
- Click on Word in the top menu bar, then select Preferences.
- Click on View.
- Under the Nonprinting characters section, check the box next to Hidden text.
Shortcut:
Shortcut: Click the ¶ (Show/Hide) button on the Home ribbon, or press Cmd + 8.
